| Spotlight on Flaxseed |
 Flaxseed is one of only two plant foods that supply the omega 3 fatty acids to the body. Walnuts is the other. Omega 3 fatty acid is called an essential fatty acid because the body cannot make this nutrient, so it must be supplied by the diet. Our body needs both omega 3 and omega 6 fatty acids, but it seems with our processed foods and animal products we get too much omega 6 and not enough omega 3's.
