| Dear Doug,
So you are interested in getting back to God's
original diet brought up to date by The Hallelujah Diet
& Lifestyle? O.K. Here's what the Bible
says:
"...forgetting those things which are behind,
and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
I press toward the mark for the prize of the high
calling of God in Christ Jesus." - Philippians 3:13-14
KJV In this issue we will help you
leave behind a diet and lifestyle that almost guarantee
that you and your family will die of heart disease or
cancer before your time. Marilyn will help you to
get your home in order for experiencing a more pain and
disease-free life. Let us help you to health God's
way. |
The Case for Kitchen
Renovation
|
 My kitchen
looked very different before starting the Hallelujah
Diet. My countertop had a canister set with white flour,
white sugar, and caffeine tea. It was also home to
a coffee maker, which I used every day and a mixer for
making cakes. My pantry was filled with dead,
highly-processed packaged, bottled, and canned items
(notice that I do not refer to these as "foods"!) We
drank water straight from the faucet along with an
abundance of sugary drinks and sodas. I
frequently used an electric skillet, a deep fryer, and
aluminum cookware. My freezer was well-stocked
with meats and convenience "foods". My selection
of foods was based on 2 things: taste and ease of
preparation. It's a wonder we're still
alive! I'll be very honest with you - it was
difficult in the beginning to part with some of my
favorite "foods" and appliances. I held on to them
for several months until I finally came to the
realization that as long as these dangerous "foods" and
appliances were in my kitchen, I was never going to have
lasting success on this Diet. With my husband's
full support, I filled several large garbage bags with
already opened junk food; unopened unhealthy items went
to our local soup kitchen. I wrestled with this
for a while, but after working at the soup kitchen
myself several times, I know that hungry people will eat
just about anything and I can't change the
world. So if you have been "playing
around" with this Diet, I urge you to get serious about
it and renovate your kitchen once and for all, replacing
the deadly foods with healthy
alternatives. |
My Hallelujah
Kitchen
|
Since cleaning
out my pantry and clearing my countertops of unhealthy
"foods" and appliances, I now have a "Hallelujah
Kitchen". We enjoy fresh, pure water from our Waterwise 9000
Distiller. We do recommend adding some organic
minerals to the water after being on the Diet for one
year. We add 1-2 teaspoons of WaterMax per gallon;
this also raises the alkalinity of the
water.
Another wonderful water purification
system is the Living Water II or III, which hooks to
your faucet and gives pure water on demand. My Green Star 3000
Juicer sits in the corner as is used by Doug and me
about every 5 days to juice organic carrots and other
vegetables, too. I recently won a Rice and
Vegetable Steamer, which sits on my counter, too.
On special occasions our family enjoys homemade whole
wheat bread and homemade pizza using my Zojirushi Bread
Machine. Both of these recipes can be found in
Hallelujah! Simple
Weekly Meal
Plans.
Underneath my counter are my NutriMill Grain
Mill for grinding wheat berries to make fresh
flour. I highly recommend the Kitchen Aid Food
Processor for shredding, chopping, and pureeing. This
machine makes raw food prep a snap! At least twice
a week I make Daisy a raw fruit smoothie with my Vita-Mix blender
before before she heads off to school. I keep my
Excalibur 2900
Dehydrator outside in our garage since it does heat
up my kitchen in the summer. I use it primarily
for dehydrating nuts and seeds which have been soaked.
When our children were younger they loved fruit roll-ups
made in the dehydrator. My raw "meat" loaf smells
wonderful in the dehydrator.
The newest kitchen
appliance we have is the EasyGreen
Sprouter. With our sprouter, we grow organic
sprouts year round automatically. Sprouts are many
times more nutritious than mature plants and they are
great additions to our salads and sandwiches.
I
love the appearance of my kitchen now that I have
replaced the unhealthy items with healthier ones.
It's a great feeling knowing that as a wife and mother I
am providing life-giving foods to our little
family. |

Magnificent Menus
|
Ok, so you've rid your kitchen of all the dangerous
foods and replaced them with healthy foods and
appliances. Some planning will need to go into
meal preparation each week. You can either use the
menus exactly as I've printed them in Simple Weekly Meal
Plans or you can plan your own; either way, just
remember that "if you fail to plan, you plan to
fail"!
If the husband and wife both work outside
the home, I suggest assigning a different evening meal
for each of the seven days; for instance, Monday will be
brown rice and steamed vegetables, Tuesday will be
Layered Mexican Casserole , Wednesday will be roasted
vegetables, Thursday will be cornbread salad, etc.
Just decide what your family favorites are and
assign those for a given day, then you don't have to
come home from work and figure out what you'll
have for dinner. Just be sure you have
stocked all of the needed ingredients in
advance.
As you have time, say on the weekends,
you can experiment with recipes from
SWMP and my new upcoming book, which should be
published by late spring of 2008. With the
holidays coming up, you will love Rhonda Malkmus'
Hallelujah Holiday Recipes. If you order it from
Hallelujah Acres (1-800-915-9355), please be sure to use
my PIN - ACO. Thank you! Be determined and
be consistent. Eat to live by feeding your body
primarily living, organic fruits and
vegetables.

Safe, Sanitary
Home
|
 It
has been my goal since changing my diet over 8 years
ago, to have a healthy home in every way possible from
the water we drink and the food we eat to the cleanest
and most sanitary clothes and air possible. I
thank God to be affiliated with a wonderful company
which specializes in "healthy living
technologies". Our Fresh Air by EcoQuest
International is very quiet, yet very powerful,
providing healthy home insurance 24/7. This
amazing machine has been scientifically proven to not
only eliminate odors and smoke, but more importantly, it
kills up to 99.99% of mold, viruses, and bacteria on
surfaces. This includes germs which I refer to as
the dangerous 3 s's - staph, strep, and salmonella,
Unless you are "supermom" and can spray and wipe
down everything in your home with toxic chemicals (who
wants to do that?!), you are fighting a losing
battle. That's why we have a Fresh Air which
silently and effortlessly kills germs
continuously. This purified air circulates with
our central air to treat all of the air in our lower
level. Since we don't have an HVAC system for our
daughter's upstairs bedroom, we have an EcoBox from
EcoQuest in her room; it treats up to 1,500 square
feet from one location. I absolutely love my Laundry Pure from
EcoQuest! It uses oxygen and peroxides to lift dirt and
odors from my wash with cold water only. I never
use hot or warm water anymore and the best part is that
I no longer have to purchase detergent or bleach.
This machine, which sits behind and above my washing
machine, also kills germs with the power of silver
ions. Our clothes and linens are softer, fluffier,
and are retaining their vivid colors. This device
gives off a beautiful light when it is running.
Doug has installed Sprite shower
filters on all 3 of our showerheads. Did you
know that half of our daily chlorine exposure is from
showering? As chlorine is absorbed through the skin, it
also vaporizes in the shower, is inhaled into the lungs,
and transfers directly into the blood stream. We
have removed the chlorine and other chemical toxins from
our water with shower filters. Our skin and
hair feel so much softer now.

Foods for
Thanksgiving
|
Thanksgiving
is quickly approaching. This is one of my favorite
times of the year. I look forward to being with most of
my extended family again this year. Because we
will be traveling to Mississippi to be with them, there
will be traditional foods there like turkey and
casseroles. I'll prepare some raw vegetable and
fruit salads along with my raw apple pie. Of
course my family expects my Cornbread Dressing without
eggs or chicken broth. Here are two of the recipes
I'll be preparing:
Cornbread for Dressing 2
cups Arrowhead Mills Cornbread Mix 1 tablespoon
Rumford Baking Powder 1 cup chopped green
onions 3/4 cup chopped celery 1 apple, peeled and
shredded 1/4 cup Vegenaise 1 cup almond
milk
Mix the above ingredients well. Add
more milk if needed for a soupy consistency. Pour
mixture into an iron skillet which has been sprayed with
olive oil. Bake
until golden brown (about 25 minutes) in a 400 degree
oven. I usually make this the day before the feast and
refrigerate.
Dressing: Chop 3 additional green
onions and 2 ribs of celery. Place in a small pot with 1
cup of pure water and bring to a boil. Crumble the
cornbread into a 9 x 13 inch (or larger) dish. Add 2
slices of whole grain bread or buns which have been
cubed (toasting is optional). Mix with Imagine No
Chicken Broth (a vegetable broth) until soupy. Add the
additional boiled onions and celery, including water.
Add the following spices (more if desired): 1
teaspoon sage 1/2 teaspoon marjoram 1/2 teaspoon
thyme 1/2 teaspoon Celtic Sea Salt Mix well and
bake at 400 degrees until firm (about 25
minutes).
Sweet Potato Slaw 2 medium sweet
potatoes, shredded 1 apple, peeled &
shredded 3/4 cup diced fresh pineapple 1/3 cup
organic raisins juice from 1/2 lemon dash of
Celtic Sea Salt
Mix ingredients and add 1-2
tablespoons of Vegenaise to desired consistency.
(Don't tell your family what this is and see if they can
guess the secret ingredient. Most people don't realize
they are eating raw sweet potatoes.) This is a
great way to get beta and alpha carotene, great cancer
fighters.
Be sure to take time before "digging
in" to go around the table or room to let everyone
express some things for which they are thankful to
God. Verbally express your love to your family -
don't put that off. How I wish I could tell my
Daddy how much I love him!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all! Marilyn:)
