A word from the Lord: "Order my steps in thy Word: and let not
any iniquity have dominion over me." Psalm 119:133. "For
hereunto were ye called; because Christ also suffered for you, leaving
you an example, that ye should follow in His steps." I Peter 2:21.

Establishing a Healthy Regimen |
 |
|
The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle encompasses a radically
different set of priorities than the standard American diet (SAD).
That's why it takes a combination of knowledge, conviction,
discipline, and determination to develop and maintain a healthy
regimen.
First, realize that there are three distinct cycles that the body
goes through each day and it is important for us to assist the
body in these cycles.
- 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m. - Eating & Digestion Cycle
- 8:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. - Rest & Assimilation Cycle
- 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon - Detoxification Cycle
In the first cycle, our body should be taking in the two full
meals of The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle in addition to any juices
or fruit that we need for energy.
In the second cycle, we should let our body rest from eating so
that assimilation of our food can procede without additional
digestion stress.
In the third cycle, our body needs time to expel toxins that have
built up over the last day. That's why the Hallelujah Diet does
not promote eating solid food in the morning, as well as ending
eating at 8:00 p.m. in the evening.
In addition to the Hallelujah Diet regimen found at
http://www.hacres.com/diet/hallelujahday.asp, we also
recommend beginning your day with prayer, Bible study, and
exercise. Marilyn and I usually begin our day by making our bed.
One of us reads a hymn or gospel song and begins our prayer. The
other ends the prayer time with requests from our prayer book.
After we pray we take our BarleyMax & carrot juice. We then
usually read our Bibles and then go on a three mile walk. Strength
training follows our walk and then we begin our day of work. The
rest of our day follows the regimen of The Hallellujah Diet &
Lifestyle.
Planning daily meals is an important aspect of any diet regimen,
so Marilyn has made it easier for you. She has developed four
weeks of great tasting, simple hallelujah meals, complete with
grocery list for each week. The book "Simple
Weekly Meal Plans" is a best seller at Hallelujah Acres, so
get yours today.
We have found that when we develop a regimen it is so much easier
to stay healthy. The lifestyle based on Genesis 1:29 becomes
automatic and much less a struggle. Please develop your own
regimen and see what a difference it can make in you life. May God
bless you. As always, when you order from Hallelujah Acres, please
use our Pin, ACO. That way we get a small commission from our
friends at H.A. and it helps us both to continue this wonderful
ministry.

Adjusting the Regimen to Your Needs |
 |
|
The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle is somewhat flexible in order
to meet special needs. Some of those special needs would be those
who:
- are obese
- are very thin already
- have cancer
- have diabetes
- are on medication
- have heart disease
- are athletes
- are physically challenged
If I were obese I would drastically limit the cooked foods and
items toward the top of the
Hallelujah Diet Food Pyramid. In addition, a juice fast for
several days per week could increase my speed of weight loss while
giving me great nutrition.
If I was already thin and didn't want to lose any more weight, I
would increase the amount of cooked foods, including more nuts and
seeds (raw, soaked, and dehydrated), while maintaining protein and
calcium intake with a variety of fruits and vegetables. When
exercising, I would lean more toward stretching and weights rather
than aerobics, which burn more calories.
If I had cancer, I would consume lots of fresh carrot juice and
BarleyMax as well as blenderized salads (especially cruciferous
vegetables),
digestive enzymes, and
probiotics.
If I were a type II diabetic, I would be careful to dilute the
carrot juice with water or BarleyMax to avoid natural sugar
spikes. And I would continue to monitor my blood sugar levels
until they were in the safe range.
I would be sure to check with my medical doctor and work with
him/her to transition off medication safely while doing the
Hallelujah Diet. Detoxification symptoms that are severe might
warrant eating more cooked food for a few days.
If I had a heart condition, a fast from processed oils and
high-fat foods would be beneficial, as taught by
Dr. Caldwell Esslystyn.
If I were an athlete I would double or triple my intake of raw
foods over cooked foods in order to maintain caloric intake. I
would also increase nuts, seeds, and high energy fruits in my
diet.
If I were physically challenged I would get a
rebounder and progress slowly into more and more challenging
exercise including stretching, weights, and aerobics.
The Hallelujah Diet & Lifestyle is the best way back to health
because it is the original plan of God for health as told in
Genesis 1:29-30 of the Holy Bible. Try it for 21 days and see for
yourself. May God bless you and keep you on tract to health.

Spotlight On Celery |
 |
|
Celery is a great vegetable to add to your grocery list.
Marilyn and I sometimes add a few juiced stalks to our weekly
carrot juice supply. She has used celery in traditional dresssing
for Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and in other recipes. This
newsletter has a couple of suggestions from her.
Dr. Norman Walker says that the "greatest value of raw celery lies
in the fact that it contains an exceptionally high percentage of
vital organic sodium". For that reason, celery is often used as a
substitute for table salt. It is also a good source of magnesium
and iron.
Celery is said to be good for relieving muscle spasms and for
reducing blood presssure, according to
The Presciption for Nutritional Healing.
My favorite recipe for celery is not actually a recipe but a way
to eat it as a snack. I mix up some almond butter and "Just Fruit"
(jelly without sugar) and scoop the almond butter and jelly into
that trough in the celery. It's a great T.V. snack. Try it
sometime!

Chick Pea Salad and Apricot Spread |
 |
I'm including 2 new recipes in this month's newsletter. Since the
spotlight is on celery, the Chick Pea Salad contains celery and
the Apricot Spread can be served on celery sticks. Hope you enjoy
both recipes!
Chick Pea Salad:
1 can of chick peas, drained (also known as garbanzo beans) -
Organic would be best.
1 rib of celery, chopped
1/3 cup chopped red, yellow, or orange pepper
1/4 cup sliced black olives
1 tablespoon parsley
1 teaspoon minced onion
1/8 teaspoon dried oregano
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
Mix these ingredients well then stir in the following blended
dressing:
1 tablespoon olive oil
1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
Serve this salad on a bed of greens.
Apricot Spread (I served this at our New Year's Party and received
great reviews.)
1 package of rice cream cheese
2 tablespoons of apricot all fruit spread
1/2 teaspoon minced onion
1/3 cup finely-chopped walnuts
Mix and chill. Serve on celery sticks, whole wheat pita triangles,
or whole grain crackers. Yum!

Staying Healthy in 2007
|
|
|
The key to building a healthy body, soul, and mind is a healthy
daily regimen.
Research has told us that an action, if repeated for 21 days, can
become a habit. But did you know that a habit must first be born
from a thought, a conviction, or a belief? Then it develops into
an action, repeated and rehearsed over and over. After 21 days,
the action becomes almost automatic and requires little conscious
thought. The well known proverb says:
"Sow a thought, reap an act;
Sow an act, reap a habit;
Sow a habit, reap a character."
Read this issue to develop a great regimen that can transform
you into a stronger Champion for the Lord. |
