Resolved: I will not be sick!
What a great year we would have if we could remain healthy all year
long! With the Hallelujah Diet our motto is "You don't have to be
sick!" Our Word from the Lord says that our burden is light when we
are yoked with Him. I can attest to the fact that the burden of
fasting from the world's food is light when I let the Lord have my
struggle. Do you struggle with tempting foods and beverages that you
know are not healthy? We all do. Let me share some encouragement with
you for sticking with the healthy plant-based diet and active
lifestyle. Here are my resolutions. Would you like to make them yours?
Resolved: I will NOT eat ANY animal-based foods. I am certain that the
plant-based diet with fresh raw fruits and vegetables, nuts and seeds
can keep me healthy. I will TRUST in God's original diet to keep me
healthy this year.
Resolved: I will fast from the world's processed foods that are dead
and lifeless and will avoid the additives, chemicals, taste inhancers,
salt and sugar that are in them all.
Resolved: I will JUICE vegetables and drink at least two eight-ounce
glasses of fresh carrot juice (with or without other fresh vegetables)
each day. I TRUST that this concentrated juice will be an injection of
pure nutrition and energy to my cells that will enable detoxification,
healing, and vitality to my body.
Resolved: I will eat a VARIETY of FRESH, RAW, ORGANIC (if possible)
fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds every day in a proportion of at
least 85% of my diet.
Resolved: I will LIMIT my cooked food to 15% of my diet and will cook
this food very lightly by steaming, boiling, or by dehydrating it.
Resolved: I will DRINK ONLY distilled water or purified water along
with my fresh vegetable and fruit juices.
Resolved: I will EXERCISE at least 30 minutes daily and include
stretching, aerobic, and weight-bearing workouts.
Resolved: I will get at least 15 minutes of sunshine on my skin every
day so that my body can manufacture vitamin D.
Resolved: I will read and study my Bible every day and pray to my
heavenly Father.
Resolved: I will share the gospel of Jesus Christ every chance I get.
I will study to know how to present the gospel to every person I meet.
Resolved: I will share this healthy message and this web site with
someone each week so that they too can find health and wellness.
Lastly, I pray that you will realize that these resolutions are easy
when you are the temple of the Holy Spirit and are yoked with Him.

Alternative Foods to Keep You Healthy
Do we have to give up ALL the good foods we have loved all our lives?
No. We don't. There are many healthy alternatives available that have
the same taste and texture but are void of the animal fat,
cholesterol, acid, and additives that are killing Americans. Here is a
list of foods that we love and the alternatives that are just as good
but much safer for us.
Hamburgers: Try Amy's California Veggie Burgers, available at Kroger
stores and health food stores. Use whole wheat buns or Boston Bib
lettuce as buns. Also, try dehydrated burgers found in "Simple Weekly
Meal Plans".
Hot Dogs: Try a soy hot dog on a whole wheat hot dog bun (of course,
very seldom). Use Vegenaise instead of mayo.
Pepperoni Pizza: Grind you own wheat, bake your own pizza dough, and
use fresh diced vegetables, pineapples, black olives, etc. Bake the
dough until brown, then spread the sauce (one with less sugar like
Muir Glen) then the veggies, and put into oven just long enough to warm
the toppings. Remove, slice and eat. Instead of cheese, use
nutritional yeast, which is non-GMO and non-dairy.
Fried Chicken: Let's face it. There is no substitute for this food.
But I can do without the grease, the cholesterol, the hormones, the
bacteria, and the acid that it shoves into my body temple. Chickens
are the sickest animals we process in America.
Chili: Now we can have chili without any loss of flavor or texture.
You can use bulgur wheat or just use vegetables. Marilyn has a
wonderful recipe in her book as so does Kim Wilson. Realize that
without a veggie salad before you eat this, you will not get any live
food. Serve with corn bread and you've got a great meal.
Milk: It doesn't do a body any good! Use rice milk or almond milk.
Most grocery stores, including WalMart, have them.
Sugar: Instead of nutritionless calories, use dates, raisins, stevia,
raw honey, brown rice syrup, and
other vegetable based sweeteners that include fiber and vitamins and
minerals that act as a buffer for the fruit sugar and provide .
Breads: Use whole grain breads and remember to use bread and grains
sparingly. Breads, even whole grain ones, are still processed foods
that have little nutrition and are very close to simple sugars that
will spike the blood sugar and stress the pancreas.
Cereals: Use raw cereals that still have the bran and germ. Soak them
the night before and drain, eat with rice milk, fruit, or dry.
There are many other substitutes for these dangerous foods. Search
your grocery and health food stores for healthy alternatives. It's
worth the extra money and time to stay healthy. Also, for more tasty

Hallelujah Acres Supplements
Most of the time we do not promote supplements. Especially synthetic
supplements or combination supplements like multivitamins or
multiminerals in liquid or tablet form. Why? Because they are not
synergistically formulated. God is the ultimate chemist. He is the
only one who can formulate a nutrient that will be fully assimilated
by the body. His combination of nutrients is perfect in the foods He
created. Not so with pharmaceutical companies that cram every known
vitamin and mineral into a pill or liquid with little regard as to
whether the body will consider it a food or a toxin. When we ingest
synthetic supplements we ingest a substance that the body may well
define as toxic. And if it does recognize it as toxic, it will store
it or expel it with lots of stress wasted.
So we are very careful in suggesting any supplements, and defer to
whole foods instead of supplementation. But there are instances when

Baked Zucchini
3 medium zucchini, cut into chunks
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced (I try to use lots of garlic in the winter as
it is a natural antibiotic.)
Celtic Sea Salt to taste
Earth Balance "margarine"
Vegan Parmesan
Spray 9x13 inch dish with olive oil spray. Place vegetables in dish.
Dot with margarine. Sprinkle salt and Parmesan "cheese" over
zucchini. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until zucchini
is tender when pierced with a fork. You may also add yellow squash
and bell peppers (not the green ones as they are not ripe).
