How does the popular
Atkins Diet compare with The Hallelujah
Diet, based on Genesis 1:29? Here is a comparison by Dr. George Malkmus of the two diets and reasons why you should try God's way to diet and fitness.
God's Original Diet (Contemporary version - The Hallelujah Diet)
God handed down to us in Genesis 1:29 a diet composed of raw fruits and vegetables, gathered by hand, as found fresh and untainted in nature. This diet did not contain any animal products or even any grains. On this 100% uncooked vegetarian diet man lived an average of 912 years, without any recorded sickness for the first almost two thousand years of recorded history. I estimate this diet contained approximately 5% unsaturated fat, 90% complex carbohydrates, and 5% protein.
The Atkins Diet
This diet has been on best-seller lists a long time. It advocates restricted consumption of
carbohydrates (grains, flour products, sugar, etc.) while allowing an unlimited quantity of protein and saturated
fat (cooked animal products). The Atkins Diet also encourages large amounts of nutritional supplements.
The Atkins Diet may be as high as 50% saturated fat, 10% carbohydrates, and 40% protein.
When you compare this diet with the Genesis 1:29 diet, you find it fails to provide the most essential nutritional need of the body, the life force, or enzymes, which are found only in RAW foods.
Ultimate Health, Free of Sickness
To experience ultimate health and live free of sickness, we must realize that our body is a living organism, comprised of living cells. We must recognize and honor the fact that God designed us to be nourished with living (raw) food. And just as our automobiles will sputter, stall, or stop dead on their tracks on low
octane or contaminated fuel, our physical bodies can not run properly on dead food loaded with contaminates.
